Our Story

We’re a married couple who both happen to love art! Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, we left the Midwest during the pandemic and relocated in stunning Northwest Washington state, on the edge of the North Cascades near Bellingham. Inspired by our forest home in the mountains, our work reflects the magical and alchemical shifts in seasons, light, and nature.

Chet got his start decades ago in ornamental ironwork. He’d often collaborate with glass artists. Chet was often privately commissioned to design, build, and install custom pieces for multi-million dollar homes and businesses, although he occasionally was commissioned to do public sculptures, too. Two of those public commissions are kinetic wind sculptures in Raymore, Missouri. Now that he is surrounded by trees, he’s begun to work with wood, as well! Lately he’s made kinetic flower sculptures that incidentally keep the deer from munching on the family blueberry patch, plus a large fire sculpture called The Phoenix that was recently featured at Paper Whale’s Fire & Story Festival in Bellingham, Washington. He works mainly with salvaged and scrap metal, turning trash into treasure, waste into art, the ultimate alchemical creations!

Aubrey studied art, art therapy, sociology, and anthropology in undergrad, but somehow wound up going to law school and becoming a stressed out litigator. She medically retired during the pandemic and her healing journey led her back to her original vocational love of art. An avid gardener, hiker, and nature-buff, she began photographing wildflowers and drawing + painting native flora and fauna, as well as regional landscapes. The Pacific Northwest is a dynamic environment of profound seasonal and weather changes that makes for a never-ending source of inspiration, wonder, magic, and a call to conservation for future generations. Her originals and prints are for sale, sometimes via Instagram or local popups at markets and fairs, or you can give her a shout. Aubrey is also available for booking private lessons and paint parties. Just ask!

Both artists hope to inspire an appreciation for nature through their work and have collaborative wood + painted pieces planned. If you’re interested in a commission, whether it is sculptural, wood, iron, painted, or (D) all of the above, reach out. Let’s see what we can create together!
